I’m Candie—a Philly girl living in the South, a first-generation college graduate, a survivor of trauma, and a woman of faith who turned her pain into purpose. I’m an author, speaker, educator, and communications strategist on a mission to help women heal, walk in truth, and rise into their God-given assignments.
I know what it means to feel invisible, to carry brokenness you didn’t ask for, and still choose joy, healing, and legacy. Every chapter of my life—no matter how messy—has been used for good. That’s why I write. That’s why I serve. That’s why I lead.
As a former English teacher, I’ve had the honor of teaching 7th, 9th, and 10th grade students in Birmingham City Schools—igniting a love for literature and self-expression in the classroom. Today, I continue that passion through my work with an educational nonprofit, where I amplify parent voices and advocate for education equity across communities.
I’m also the founder of Word Girlz, a nonprofit that empowers women and girls through literacy, storytelling, and purpose-driven programming. And as Editor-in-Chief of WOW! Magazine, I’ve helped create a platform for Christian women to be inspired, empowered, and heard.
Whether I’m helping schools find their voice, teaching a women’s workshop, or mentoring writers to own their story—I do it with heart, truth, and strategy.

Faith isn’t just part of the brand—it’s the foundation. Every word, workshop, and strategy is rooted in spiritual alignment. I believe in divine timing, God-sized dreams, and walking by faith even when the path isn’t clear. My work is guided by grace and grounded in truth.
Impact
I don’t just aim for inspiration—I aim for transformation. Whether it’s helping a woman find her voice, supporting a nonprofit’s message, or coaching a brand into bold visibility, My mission is simple: leave people and platforms better than I found them.
