A song from my soul

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. 7 For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. 8 God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne. Psalm 47:6-8 Many of us are familiar with a song sung in churches, specifically African American churches, which goes, "Woke up this morning with my mind stayed on Jesus, Woke up this morning with my mind stayed on Jesus, Woke up this morning with my mind stayed on Jesus, Hallelu, Hallelu, Hallelujah" The sentiment of the song is that we awake with the Lord being foremost on our mind. We are so thankful and grateful for just another day that we sing out with graciousness and thankfulness for His enduring faithfulness! It's a beautiful thing to have a song from your soul to the Lord. Deep within the recesses of your inner being you can slip away and praise Him because the song that is stirring within you is causing you to worship Him! The beauty of having such a song in your soul is that no one else has to be privy to that information. In the midst of your day, throughout your day, in the midst of crisis and distress - you can be singing the song from your soul and no one else has to know. This very intimate encounter with the Lord is truly a joy! To connect with your savior on an invisible level to the human eye is simply amazing! Folks can be cussing you out, disrespecting you, mistreating you, talking about you - but you can still escape to worship with the song within your soul! Sing praise to God, Sing Praises to our King - He is King of ALL the earth - go ahead - escape to that place within you that bows at the throne of the Most High God! Don't worry about what's going on around you - Enter into his presence with singing - sing that song that is within your soul!
