Encourage Her

Who ever said this Christian life would be a flowery bed of ease? There are times when trials hit us so hard we literally want to give up. Yes, we know that God is there, but still we can’t feel his Presence. Then there are times when we feel content—God is blessing us, our fellowship with Him is wonderful, our prayer life is consistent—and it is often in these times that we forget about our Sister who may be experiencing those feelings we once felt. Whether she is someone with whom we talk regularly, occasionally, in passing, or whether she is a friend of a friend of a friend—she seeks encouragement. Sometimes we see her struggling but we choose to ignore her pain because it’s not our problem or we don’t “know her like that”. However, we must remember those sacred scriptures that brought us out of our dilemmas, those compassionate words of encouragement someone used to revive our broken spirits. Take the time to pray with her or share your favorite “breakthrough” scriptures. Let us try to be more understanding when our sisters are going through. Surely, the time will come AGAIN when, in our own spiritual walk, we need encouragement, a shoulder—a kind word. If your sister needs you—whether she be a close friend or even a friend of a friend of a friend, Encourage Her!
